A week of traveling

It was so nice to see our friends after Pesach break. We continued where we left off, the Jewish people leaving Mitzrayim. This week we focused on what happened next!

Where did they go and how did they get there?

We took this opportunity to have a week of learning about TRANSPORTATION.

Leah, showing us different ways we can travel. 

The Jewish people were so excited to follow Hashem through the desert and receive His present, the Torah at Mount Sinai. They did not have any methods of travel we use today but rather they used their ....Feet! Happily! 

They did not have trains ;)

Different types of ramps encouraged spatial awareness. Giving space to friends who wanted turns as well as figuring out what cars fit inside the tube ramp.

We invited the children to draw what they like to travel on. This led to a  great discussion amongst friends who went on airplanes over Pesach break.

What did they eat on their long trip? Their Matzah ran out! 

We learned about the Mann, heavenly white seeded food that tasted like anything they wanted!

Ben, came up by circle time and fed one of our little people Mann that tasted like tacos!

Practice Makes Perfect

    This week we put the finishing touches on our haggados and made sure that we would all know what do do when the Seder rolled around. 

We took what we had been learning about and made it practical with a seder inside of our classroom!

We were so excited for each step of the seder!

We stood up on our chairs and sang Mah Nishtana and Dayenu.

We played some fun games as we went through each step, now that we have experienced it, we know that we will be ready on Seder night!

We cleaned our school

 and some of our toys for Pesach.

It's crazy that such a large amount of grapes made such a small amount of juice.

                          Doing a Write the Room activity and finding words in our classroom.                                                We had a scaffolded coloring table, color by letter for our Pre-k and color by word family for our Kinders.

Dancing in the sea!

It has been weeks of preparing for Pesach and this week we were finally at the highlight of how Hashem helped us leave Mitzrayim!

Our friends have been having fun building with different mediums in our Mitzrayim center.

Hashem tried to give King Paroh a chance to let him let us go.

We called the 10 plagues 'lessons' Hashem was trying to teach King Paroh.

Menachem, helped us demonstrate the first plague, he poured water in the King's cup and there was blood!!

Shua, served Moshe water and there was just delicious water. 

The King didn't like the blood and wanted the Jews to just leave! 

As soon as the blood went away, King Paroh changed his mind. 

Chana, learning about how Hashem sent frogs just to King Paroh and his people to try teach him another lesson.

                                                  

After ten lessons Hashem taught King Paroh it was finally time to leave Mitzrayim!! 

We followed Moshe to the big ocean. We put our two big blue carpets together and added sharks and whales. We felt the nerves when King Paroh was trying to change his mind again and was coming behind us. 

                                                  

As our friends were turning back around we pulled one of the carpets to create a 'splitting of the sea'!!

We were so happy we can finally leave Mitzrayim! Thank you Hashem! We took some tambourines and danced feeling so happy.

At the sensory sand table we presented an idea to try to make circles like Matzah. Menachem still had the splitting sea in mind and creativity decided to make his own scene with little people and splitting the sand!

                                                

We have been working hard on our very own Hagaddah!

Nail polish swirled in water was a science experiment while decorating our cups for the seder.

At the Seder Table

 We have been delving into what our seder table will look like.

We took a look at everything that will be on our seder plate.

Moshe draws a picture of something that will be on the seder table for his friends to guess.

When we tasted the karpas dipped in salt water, we were reminded of our salty tears. 

One friend shared that when she had cried recently her tears were salty too.

We made our own Charoset in class, we all agreed it did look like the materials used to make bricks.

Ask your child if they were a fan :) Not everyone was.

We are learning a song that will help us remember what each step is about.

Maggid we already knew the story of, so we played a silly game of mad-libs and switched it up.

We all laughed at the funny words!

Sewing our Afikoman bags was a little tricky, but we felt very accomplished when ours was finished
