A wet wonderful week!

This week at Gan we learned about Parshat Noach.

After Hashem created the world all the people were choosing only to do bad with out fixing their mistakes. Hashem really wanted people to do good in this beautiful world.

Hashem made the decision to clean the world and start fresh. 

Our sensory table was a great way to discuss Hashem's rain.

Hashem didn't just bring rain we learned about what a flood is. It would cover the whole world. 

We invited friends to create a rain scene and watch the water drip down from the cotton ball clouds. 

Noach, who was the righteous man in the world was chosen to warn the people what was going to happen. He was laughed at but continued to do his job by building a big boat, a teiva.

While talking a lot about water it was fun to feel different forms of water, ice.

What was on this boat?

Reuvi, helped us act out each floor of this boat. 

The top floor was where Noach and his family lived, the middle floor was where all the animals stayed. If it was a Kosher animal there were 7 and non kosher animals were 2 each. 

Avigail, showed us the bottom level was where all the garbage went. This was a big job for Noach and his family but they were excited to finally have a world where they can do Mitzvahs and have people who can live with each other.

One of our big ideas this week was what happened after the flood. Hashem showed them a rainbow representing that He will not send another flood and now it was time to brighten the world with colorful and beautiful mitzvahs. Our rainbow mitzvah notes being showcased on all the gorgeous colors our friends helped make.

In honor of the Parsha we had some animal visitors. Morah Rachel brought in her cats and we learned all about the care they need. We tried to picture Noach caring for ALL the types of animals and realized how miraculous this was.

Everyone makes mistakes!

Yom Kippur, is the holiest day of the whole year! 

Hashem gives us a chance to fix our mistakes and start fresh for the whole year.

We are like special angels on Yom Kippur. We worked together to graph what we do and what we don't do. 

Yehudis, showing us a water bottle. Just like angels do not eat or drink we learned that some adults fast on Yom Kippur. 

Moshe, found a Machzor a special prayer book we read from on Yom Kippur. 

To remind us of angels some fathers have a costume to wear a Kittul which is white.

This week we learned the story of Yona that we read on Yom Kippur. He was a prophet and  

Hashem asked him to go to the city of Ninveh to help them fix their mistakes. However, he made a mistake by trying to run away from this mission.

A miracle happened while he was a boat running away it was very stormy and they threw him off and a wale swallowed him while still remaining alive.

This was his chance to do Teshuva (repent and return) and Hashem saved him and he accomplished his mission.

We learn such a special lesson that even a big prophet makes mistakes and its ok as long as we try to fix it!

We have been getting ready for Sukkot by creating beautiful crafts to hang up. Each night we have a special spiritual leader as a visitor. Yehudis created a beautiful harp for King David. 

We learned a new morning Bracha of 'Pokeach Ivrim'. Thank you Hashem for our eyes that help us see this beautiful world!

Oops I'm sorry and busy builders!

This week we learned about Yom Kippur and Sukkot!

We all make mistakes! What happens next?

First, we allowed all feelings to come up when we realize we made an 'oops'. 

We were than able to focus on how to try to fix it. 

We invited our friends to come up and draw a scenario of a oops they did. 

Ella shared how she loves her sister so much but sometimes mistakes happen. Her sister Libi came up for a hug!

Avigail, drawing her mistake and than we watched her wipe it away. On Yom Kippur Hashem wipes us clean for a new fresh start!

Some have a custom to wear white like angels. Painting with white on black was a fun way to learn the color white and see the contrast. 

During Yom Kippur, we daven in Shul and read from the Torah. 

We brought out a replica and watched our friends try to create the Alef Beis using a feather and ink.

Building our own Sukkas using our amazing big blocks and outside greenery. 

Simchat Torah at the end of the Sukkah holiday we dance with the Torah and thank Hashem for this precious gift.

Hashem Remembers My Mitzvos 💗

One of the special names of Rosh Hashanah is Yom Hazikaron, the day of Remembrance. On this day, Hashem remembers all the good things I did. He looks at all my Mitzvos and judges me with kindness. It’s like a scale, our mitzvos add weight and that helps tip the scale in our favor. Avraham,even showed us how it works with the scale in class!

The kids had so much fun measuring and experimenting with our new froggy scale!

Each child decorated their own scale and placed a mitzvah they did this year onto it, tipping their scale with goodness! Mordy, wrote "Davening".

On Rosh Hashanah, we eat Rimon (pomegranate). A rimon has many seeds which reminds us of the 613 mitzvas in the Torah! When we eat it, we ask Hashem to give us lots and lots of mitzvas this year. The children were so excited when we opened up the pomegranate and began counting the tiny seeds! We all enjoyed tasting the yummy rimon too!

Our little bakers made sweet honey cake for Rosh Hashanah! The whole classroom filled with the delicious smell. Yehudis, couldn’t help but say, ‘It smells so good!’

Pre-K Kria

We learned and practiced the letter בּ (Beis)!

K Kria

This week continue practicing the vowel of  Kamatz. We learned about silent ending letters. These are when a word ends with א, ה, or ע, and that last letter has no nikuda (sound). For example, Eli read the word Abba and circled the silent Alef at the end.

Academics

Science time! We learnt about the density of objects by doing a sink or float experiment.

Our Kinders have been working on their math skills.

Aftercare

Using recycled materials, the children built their very own “shofar factory.” They loved experimenting, decorating, and proudly showing off their unique creations. The activity sparked curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of laughter reminding us that learning can be joyful, meaningful, and eco-friendly. What a fun and memorable way to welcome the New Year together!

Aftercare was full of smiles as the kids made their own apple pops with fun toppings! What a sweet treat!
