Celebrating Lag B'omer ---Bringing more light!

The Mitzvah Menches enjoyed learning the story of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai through puppets and lots of role-playing!

He lived in a cave for 14 years while he wrote the Zohar. He ate Carobs from a carob tree and drank water from the stream that run outside the cave!

Bringing Extra Light

Since Rabbi Shimon wrote the Zohar- which represents the LIGHT of the Torah, it is our tradition to celebrate Lag B'omer by making Bonfires- representing the extra light that he brought into the world!

The children enjoyed gathering the logs from our nature center, and ripping tissue paper
to make a mock bon-fire!
