First Week Feelings!

Welcome to a brand new year of Torah Tots!

This weeks Big idea:

*Getting to know who is in our class and knowing the routines of the day.
*Expressing our feelings. What do you feel like during  the first week of school? Excited? Nervous? shy?

Feelings Graph

First week at school can be very daunting for a young child. We wanted the children to know all feelings are okay! Role playing what shy and being nervous looks like and how sometimes Morahs feel those feelings too, helped the children feel safe and comfortable.

Each child took a turn and placed their name by the picture that best expressed their feelings.
Motty showed us how excited he was by jumping really high!
Mimi placed her name to the girl who was very happy!

We were bubbling with excitement to see our new class that we celebrated with fun Bubbles on the first day of school!

Play dough fun with ABCs'

 Learning while cleaning

We noticed play dough stuck in our ABC's. This was a great opportunity to tune up our our fine motor muscles- which is a pre-writing skill.
Using thin sticks , the children carved and prodded to get all the play dough out!

 New furniture!

At first we were disappointed that our new furniture wasnt going to arrive on time for the first day of school. But we quickly discovered why it was meant to be!
The best parts of opening brand new beautiful furniture is the BOXES!

Was so fascinating to watch our class collaborating together and placing all the boxes from smallest to biggest. It took a lot of communication and patience with each other!

 Yehudis found a cozy spot!

It was a great week watching new friendships begin!
