Shabbos street

Our last week of camp has arrived :(

It zoomed by way too fast!! Doesn't it feel like yesterday  that we learned our camp cheer?! We had so much fun this month learning new things and spending time with old and new friends!  Singing all our cheers was definitely a highlight! Our last stop on Mitzva Blvd was Shabbos Street. We began by reading the story book, "Yosef Mokir Shabbos" and doing a project from it. The story is about a Jewish man named Yosef who honored Shabbos with everything he had, and he didn't have a lot. He always purchased the best fish from the store! A big miracle happened to him.... Ask your kids how he got the diamond ;) it has to do with the fish they made! We learn from this story how special Shabbos is and how we are so lucky we can honor it.

Using wax string, we traced letters and shapes

We did a cool candle experiment where we poured some colored water on a plate, we lit a candle and stood it on the plate, then we covered it with a glass bottle. We learned that hypothesis means guessing in science language,  and we hypothesized what would happen when the candle was covered. some friends said it would go out (they guessed right) but another thing happened! The water rose up in the bottle! It was very fascinating to watch.

We had a fun bubble sensory bathtub! We washed babies all clean to practice how we get ready for Shabbos! All sparkly and clean :) We talked about how we love baths !

We made special salt holders for our Tatties to use for the challah to be dipped in!

Rabbi Lang lead a rally for us to teach us about the "3 weeks" on the Kewish calendar that just began.

Mr. Potato head was very popular this month!
