Mazel Tov!

This week, we learned in the Torah portion the very first Jewish couple that got married, Yitzchak and Rivka!
Through a fun mock wedding we learned about the Jewish traditions and just how special a Jewish marriage ceremony is!

We prepared delicious cupcakes and enjoyed a vegetable platter for the special event.

Oliver, was our Rabbi who lead the ceremony.

Enjoying a festive meal after our dancing!

This week we also learned about the season of fall! Watching the fall color 'leaves' blow by our big fan.

Fall inspired art thinking out of the box during our art exploration helps our little creative brains.

Leaf patterns.

Shaina, making her playdough fall tree.

Bringing nature indoors is a great way to see all the things we can do with it.

During aftercare we worked on our balancing skills.

Shabbat Shalom!

A Jewish Wedding

This week’s Parsha Chayei Sarah, tells us the story of how Avraham sent Eliezer on a special mission to find a wife for his son Yitzchak. Eliezer davened to Hashem to help him find a girl with a kind heart. We learned what a well is and how Rivkah showed such incredible kindness when she offered water to Eliezer and all his camels, too! Gabriel and Ashira helped bring the story to life by acting it out for our class!

We gave it a try ourselves, going back and forth to give water to the camels! Carrying the water from one side to the other while trying not to spill was a fun challenge! Along the way, we talked about how big Rivkah’s mitzvah really was. Camels need A LOT of water, and it must have been such hard work for Rivkah!

We built our very own well! Ella showed us how Rivkah pulled up the bucket of water from the well..

Rivkah's well

Yitzchak and Rivkah got married, and what better way to learn about a Jewish wedding than to have one of our own?! 💕 Our Gan turned into a wedding celebration as we explored the traditions of a Jewish wedding! Each of our friends had a special role to play, with Yehudis and Yosef as our Chassan and Kallah.

Zalman and Tal were our DJs!

After all that dancing, we enjoyed some fresh veggies and muffins that we had prepared and cut ahead of time!

Silly moments 💛

Guess who??
