Waiting in line to wash hands! Environment as a 3rd teacher!

In their excitement to wash hands and eat snack...

the children started to have a hard time waiting in line!

This week we posted numbers on the floor, in a line, behind each sink!

It was actually an amazing sight to see, when it came time to wash hands. We didn't even need to explain what the numbers were for! 

The children just NEW to each step on a number.

 

This really reminds us, how true it is, that the environment is the third teacher! (As explained by Reggio Emilia)
