Back to school, back to friends!

 Welcome back!

After a rejuvenating winter break it was time to reunite and learn together with our friends! This week we focused on how we need and value each and every one of us as a GROUP! Each child is so special and adds so much to our class.

Public speaking practice ;)

Each child was offered a chance to come up in front of the class and draw/describe something they did over vacation. Those who were a bit more reserved and just wanted to draw felt comfortable. It was such a great opportunity to feel okay communicating in whichever way felt comfortable for that child. As well as a lesson for their friends, making them feel comfortable by guessing different answers till they got it correct!

We will give more opportunities for the children to share something special with their friends and gain more confidence as well as respect from their peers.

Menucha drawing herself inside her house playing.

Max drawing a ride he went on.

Home made play dough, created as a group.

Thank G-d with our growing group of friends, there is more opportunities to practice patience waiting for their turn, and feeling happy for others accomplishments.

Heart shapes helped us talk about friendship while playing with the play dough.

Friendship puzzle
Each child received their own empty puzzle piece and created their own design.

It was a great visual lesson putting all our puzzle pieces together and showing how we are all part of a greater group!

Mural art

Working on our fine motor skills, by cutting little pieces and placing them in the heart shape picture.

Learning colors through friendship!

This was so much fun! Each friend received a different color and by mixing the paint together created an even prettier color! Being with a friend is so much fun!

Friendship project
With a lot of different mediums, the children decorated miniature cutouts of themselves and a friend.

Art/Sensory opportunities

Observing the rainy weather outside!

What  treat for us! To see so much rain and puddles in front of our school!

Working together to make something grand!
We love when our wall art and bulletin board is made with the help of our friends. Stay tuned for what a lot of Trader Joes bags created for our next unit. (or you might guess by walking into our classroom;)
