Torah Time!

As we get closer and closer to Shavuos, we are getting more and more excited!
There is lots of talk in our class about cheesecake and ice cream!
The Jewish people weren't able to eat meat or chicken by Har Sinai, because they hadn't received the Torah yet, and didn't know the kosher laws of how to prepare animals. So they only had dairy.
To remember that, we also eat dairy on Shavuos!
Making some dairy spinach and zucchini quiche.

cracking eggs and checking for blood spots.

Lots of friends enjoyed it, especially the spinach,
many of our classmates wanted seconds!
Science experiments with milk!

Hashem was ready to give the Torah to the Jewish people,
but wanted a guarantee that they would keep it.

The Jewish people said, "How about the Bubbies and Zaidy's?
But Hashem didn't accept them.  "How about  the Rabbis?", But Hashem did not accept them either!
Finally they suggested the children! Hashem said , "Yes! They will be my guarantors! I know if the kids are the guarantors, the Jewish people will keep the Torah!"

We used puppets to help demonstrate.

How is a Torah written?
We looked and saw the way the letters are written in the Torah in a special way.

Trying to write our own letters, like in the Torah
Preparing beautiful flower arrangements for Shavuos!

Sholom counts syllables by feeling it out.
ABC cereal matching.

We earned our trip to the park!

Great Friends!
