Brave like a Maccabee!

Building on the children's knowledge of the Chanukah story, we focused this week on Maccabees! We began our week by creating Maccabbee crowns, and at circle time we discussed what it means to be a Maccabee today! Each time one of the children stood up for what\"s right, or noticed a friend needed something and jumped right in, we documented what took place onto a special silver note, that was added to each child\"s Maccabee crown!

Yedidia held onto his Maccabee picture outside to help him remember to be brave like a Maccabee!

We read a wonderful book titled, "Pini the Pitcher!"

We painted, and created our own Menorah\"s!

Menorah Math

The children were invited to configure what their Menorah would look like on each of the nights of Chanukah. Using numbered pictures, the children worked on their number recognition, while placing the correct number of candles in various Menorah\"s.

In honor of Yud Tes Kislev- The Rosh Hashana for Chabad Chassidus, we enjoyed a special Rally with Rabbi Lang, Pizza Lunch and surprise treats shared by Adam!
