This week’s Torah portion is Parshas Bereishis, where we learn all about how Hashem created our beautiful world in six days!
Before Hashem created the world, everything was dark! We closed our eyes and imagined a world that was completely dark and empty. Then, the very first thing Hashem created was light! ✨
We connected our learning to Thomas Edison and the invention of the light bulb. We learned how he tried again and again, and didn’t give up when it didn’t work! His perseverance reminded us that when something is hard, we can keep trying until we succeed! π‘
As we learned about Day 2 of Creation, when Hashem separated the waters and created the sky and the sea, we brought our learning to life with a fun science experiment! π§️π
We made our very own “rain bags” and hung them outside in the sunshine. Now we are watching closely to see evaporation in action and discover how water travels up and comes back down as rain!
Yosef, made a wonderful connection to our learning! He shared that while traveling to school early in the morning, it was very foggy, and he could actually feel the tiny drops of water in the clouds!
Ella, squeezed the clouds and watched the raindrops fall! ☁️
Ziva, moved the raindrops up and down in our sensory bags, just like the water cycle!
On Day 3, Hashem made our world even more beautiful by creating all the plants, trees, and flowers! π³π·πΏ
We explored Claude Monet’s art and discovered how he captured the beauty of Hashem’s world in his unique, abstract style. π¨πΏπΈ
Creating our world with balloons! π
Pre-K Kria
We learned the letter Daled and explored it in so many different ways! We practiced writing it, building it, recognizing it, and reading it as we became more confident with our new letter!
Academics
We all took turns getting an object from the “mystery box” and counted the syllables of that word.
During Circle Time we played a sight word recognition game.
Beating the heat with some refreshing water play π¦
