Purim Unit!
At Gan, we like setting the stage before the holiday story so our friends can really relate and understand on a personal level. So before learning about the Purim story, our dramatic play area turned into Mordechai and Esther's Jewish home. So many Mitzvah were happening there and our friends learned how they are just like these special people from a long time ago.
Each friend was invited to come up and share what Mitzvah they like to do just like Esther or Mordechai.
Noa shared playing at Gan.
Mordy, who has the same name as Mordechai shared he loves saying a bracha on food.
Zalman, working hard decorating Mordechai and Esther for his project.
Each day we placed another Mitzvah either on our sensory table or art table. Yosef and Chana, made a shabbos candle craft that girls like and Esther did too!
Decorating the fire.
There are so many opportunities to highlight all these mitzvahs that they are able to do.
Outside in the sandbox there was a big discussion how to move a very heavy sand bucket to a different location.
It took communication and teamwork to figure it out!
Building together!
