Bringing kindness cookies home.

We learned such a beautiful lesson from the Torah portion Vayeira:  To welcome guests to our home and be kind to them. Some of the ways we do this is by serving food to them first and making sure they are comfortable.

To bring out this lesson we did a few things...

We started off with our table turning into Avraham and Sara's tent. Puppets of Avraham and Sara showed the children they had four doors so guests can enter at each side!

Avraham and Sara invited the children to go into the tent!

Role playing the story or any idea makes it so much more real for the children to understand and appreciate!

Torah Tots wanted to invite their own guests and make something yummy for them!

Healthy and delicious pumpkin oat cookies! (recipe below)

Lots of Science and Math concepts learned through baking! And of-course turn taking!

Learning how to portion size the cookies!

After smelling yummy cookies baking in our class we were ready to invite our guest BEFORE we ate some!

Our guests were the MITZVAH MENCHIES!

We went to the other classroom, to personally invite them over!

They were so excited to be our guests!

(They got to host our class in the beginning of the week now it was their turn to get special treatment from us ;)

Torah Tots proudly showing the way!

Each child in our class got one cookie and found a guest to give it to!

Delicious! Cookies and milk!

Than we played a game. One child was blind folded while another child said in a funny voice "welcome" and the child blind folded had to guess who said it!

Was a lot of fun and was tricky!

Rochel said in a very squeaky voice "welcome" :)
Moshe figured it out!

We had a lot of fun with our guests!

To send the message home...

(both figuratively and literally)

The children made extra cookies to bring home and to either give it to a friend or a sibling,  making someone else happy!
