This week, we "landed" in the beautiful city of Tzfas! Tzfas, is in the north of Eretz Yisroel and is one of the four holy cities. It's full of mountains, quiet windy streets, and lots of stories about big tzaddikim who lived there long ago. We learned about the special tzaddik, the Ari, who lived in Tzfas. His face would shine when he learned Torah, because Torah brings light to the world! Just like the Ari, when we learn Torah, we can help fill the world with Hashem’s light too.
Gan Camarillo Preschool provides children, from toddlers through Pre-k, with a warm and loving atmosphere as they enter the school setting for the first time. Guided by our understanding of how young children learn best, our program offers them the opportunity to develop the building blocks for future success – positive self-image, social skills, language communication, and independence.

The Light of Tzfat!
To bring this message into life, the children each created a glowing lantern. On each side were beautiful drawings and messages like “When I learn Torah, I light up the world” and “How can I bring Torah with me wherever I go?”
Tzfas, is also known for its colorful and magical art. All around the city, you can find paintings and galleries that show the beauty of Torah, mitzvos, and the world Hashem made. Inspired by the artists of Tzfas, we created our own bright and meaningful artwork.
We also created Torah Or (light) crowns.
One morning, the children were filled with excitement when they discovered a tiny baby lizard in our outdoor space! They were so gentle and curious, watching him closely and wondering what he might need. Some of the children thought we should keep him as a class pet, while others felt he would be happiest back in nature. After a thoughtful discussion, the children decided to return him to his natural home, where he could be free and safe ๐
Baking Alef-Beis cookies!
Making fun fruit faces!
For gymnastics day, we showed our friends the skills we have and learned new ones.
We played a super fun game to practice our letters and sounds! Yossi, sounded out the letters on Eli’s crown, and Eli had to listen carefully and point to the correct letter. Our friends loved taking turns being the “reader” and the “pointer,” and it helped us all get stronger at recognizing and sounding out the Alef-Beis in a playful way.
Science time! We learnt about how our fingerprints are unique, and had fun using ink pads to make fingerprint sets!
We used magnifying glasses to analyze our fingerprints.
