This week’s Parsha is Lech Lecha, when we get to meet our forefather Avraham and our foremother Sarah.
When Avraham was just three years old, he began to look for Hashem. By observing the beautiful world around him, the sun, the moon, the rivers, and all of creation, he discovered Hashem, the One who made everything!
To connect to this idea, we went on a nature walk and looked closely to find Hashem’s creations all around us.
Hashem told Avraham, “Lech Lecha” — go to the land that I will show you.
Hashem didn’t tell him where to go, but Avraham trusted Him completely and followed with Emunah (faith). Our very own Avraham and Yehudis as Sarah helped act out the story so beautifully!
We talked about what a big challenge it must have been for Avraham to go without knowing the destination. To understand this idea better, we played a fun trust game — one friend was blindfolded while the other carefully guided them to a chair. The children were so gentle and trusting, just like Avraham!
After this activity, the children earned their Emunah Gem for their crown. This special crown will stay with us throughout the year as we continue to learn about our Jewish leaders and the beautiful middos (traits) they teach us. π✨
We learned that Hashem told Avraham to look up at the night sky. When he looked up, the whole sky was filled with bright, shining stars! Hashem wanted Avraham to know that one day he would have many, many children, as many as the stars in the sky! Each one would shine bright with their mitzvos and kindness, bringing light into the world just like the stars above. π
Each of us is one of those special stars — unique, bright, and full of light! ✨
Our self-portraits show just how special and one-of-a-kind each child is, shining in their own beautiful way!
