My Sweet Little Mitzvas

What a sweet first week we had in our class!

Rosh Hashanah is on the way, and we all agreed on one thing, we want a SWEET new year!

Our friend Bumble Bee came to visit and told us all about the delicious honey she makes for Rosh Hashanah. 🐝

But where do we get honey?

It starts with the flowers! 🌸
Gabriel said that this is where the bee collects the nectar. From the flowers, the nectar makes its way back to the beehive, where our busy bees work together to turn it into the yummy honey we dip our apples into on Rosh Hashanah! 

 Bumble Bee taught us something very important… there is something even sweeter than honey - our MITZVOS!

The children thought about their favorite mitzvos and created their very own mitzvah jars, filling them with all the sweet mitzvos they love to do.

"Mitzvos are sweeter than honey!"

We learned that this is one of the beautiful messages of eating honey on Rosh Hashanah. As we ask Hashem for a sweet new year, the honey reminds us of all the sweet mitzvos we did throughout the year, and all the new mitzvos we can do in the year ahead!

Toby’s favorite mitzvah is sharing!

Ella drew a picture of her sister Libi and told us she loves hugging her!

Tal’s favorite mitzvah is giving Tzedakah and Ziva shared that she loves helping her brother Yosef in the morning! 💕

It was a fun challenge for Zalman to figure out which lid matched his jar.

Our class honey jar is filling up so quickly with all the sweet mitzvos we are doing!

Yosef's mitzvah note went all the way to the tippy top!

We got to taste apples dipped in honey 🍎 and sing together:

“Dip the apple in the honey,

make a bracha loud and clear!

L’Shana Tova U’Metuka,

have a happy, sweet new year!” 🎶

PhoeBEE the Beekeeper came to visit us! 🐝 We got the inside scoop on the bees and learned all about their busy, buzzy world!

We baked a special birthday cake for Ashira! She chose vanilla cake with chocolate frosting - yum!

Yosef and Yehudis cracked the egg into a separate cup and carefully checked it for blood spots. "All good!"

Breathing with our stretchy toys makes us happy, relaxed, and ready to learn new things✨

Pre-K Kria

We are off to a great start in our Kria class. We began with the first letter - Alef!

Through fun games and worksheets, we are practicing recognizing our Hebrew letters. We are off to a wonderful start!

Academics

We had fun using our rhythm sticks! Using rhythm sticks teaches us foundational music concepts and fine motor skills.

We took turns playing a letter recognition/beginning sounds game.
