Sand is a great tool to use to allow the children to practice writing and creating shapes! This activity came in line with Shavuot...as we explore Mountains and their properties!
We put out printed names for them to find their own...and use the tools to write in the sand!
(Incredible to see the development of our 3 year olds who at the start of this year could not recognize their name, but now can not only recognize their own name, but that of their friends as well!)
What was nice about this, is that no matter what stage the child is at in their writing skills...they had the opportunity to experience carving shapes, letters and imprints in the sand!
