A TREEmendous birthday party!

Eretz Yisroel- Israel

Tu B'shvat is a time when we talk about Israel, a special land given to the Jewish people.
The trees in Israel are now starting to bloom and on the new year for trees , the tradition is to taste the Seven special foods of Israel. (Grapes, dates, figs, pomegranates, olives, wheat and barley)

Dovi showing his friends where on the globe Israel can be found.

Tree fun!

The children had a fun time placing the correct fruit on the different trees of Israel

Menachem and Ari building their own tree out of recycled materials and different colored beads as the leaves and fruit.

Green and brown play dough was a fun sensory experience to create a tree.
Shayna hard at work on her green leaves on the tree.

Science experiment

We have been talking a lot about growth these past two weeks. The children created their own growth experiment by placing wet cotton balls and beans and hanging it on our window for sun light to see if they will sprout.

By outdoor time we received a lot of visitors to their display asking "Is it sprouting yet?". It is a great way to learn the process of planting and patience.

Partnering with parents!

What a great week filled with children bonding with their parents and planting in our garden outside!
