Adom & Tzahov. Learning our colors in another language.

Preschool is a great time to introduce words in another language. (or even younger when possible.

The first five years of a childs life are the most formative and the brain can absorb so much more than we can even imagine.

using objects or Items that are familiar as well as exciting for the children we set them up for success Iearning new languages.

Adom (red) hunt! The children had to run around the classroom and find something that is red and say "Adom"!

The color center was a good place to start!

Then we took it to the next level when we added the color YELLOW, TZAHOV.  I cut out yellow and red rectangles and had the children jump on an                 RED ADOM  paper. Than we did that with a TZAHOV (yellow) paper. We had fun doing silly things on the papers like a funny dance or hopping etc. While playing this game we were practicing the Hebrew words of the colors and recognizing the difference.

More ADOM (red) fun...

Cooper loved the feeling of the red paint on his hands and creating hand prints on the paper!

Healey gave me a red 'hi' :)

Menucha told me she wanted to color the whole table red!

Levi wanted to stick his hand in but decided to do one finger and section at a time instead!

I wanted them to practice their new Hebrew word Adom (red) that they were learning with fruit so we made fruit kabobs!
Ellah loved the Adom strawberries!

"Almost to the top!"

Caleb figured out how to push them all the way down so
he would have room for a lot of fruit!
Cooper making a pattern with his!

Another fun way to practice both colors

we were focusing on. I put both red and yellow pipe cleaners sticking out of Styrofoam pieces and small red and yellow beads to match on the right color pipe cleaner!
