This week we celebrated the first of the Hebrew month of Elul. A special time before Rosh Hashanah.
During this month Hashem 'comes out of His palace' and is more approachable for us.
Avraham helped role play what its like when a King is in his Palace surrounded by guards and needing special permission. He then came out and Yossi was able to walk right over to him and ask for his needs. He asked for everyone to feel safe.
Since the King is in the field now, we headed outdoors and davened beautifully to Hashem!
We created a field mural to hang up in our classroom. It is an interactive center, that allows the children to visualize the King, and we place their Mitzvah notes on it, and the children can see how its getting them closer to the King (Hashem, who is the King of all Kings.)
Leah, using magnet tiles to make a palace.
Working hard on our King project creating a field scene and making Kings!
Nechama, using playdough to create people in the field.
Nechama, writing המלך בשדה (the king is in the field).
We played a fun game searching for the hidden King, which was behind one of the number flaps.
It was so silly that we discovered ALL of the fun objects before we found the king!
