Filled with Mitzvahs

Rosh Hashana preparations have been in full swing in our class this week!
We have been showing different foods we customarily eat on Rosh Hashana.
Pomegranate is one of the fruits we eat. After looking at the difference between an apple and a pomegranate our friends noticed the many seeds a pomegranate has!

Those seeds represent the 613 Mitzvahs we want to fill our new year with!

Documenting with Morah Hadar, the Mitzvahs we like to do! Our friends, had to guess what we were drawing.

Shai and Mendy, experimenting with apple pieces and creating a structure with toothpicks.

Leah wanted to put a lot of seeds in her playdough!

Kfir, finding all of them hidden in the playdough.

Most importantly we have been noticing so many SWEET moments amongst our friends every day and highlighting this beautiful Mitzvah.

Making delicious  honey cupcakes to take home!
Using our patience and turn taking skills.

Conflict resolution is an important skill we will be focusing on this year.
We want to learn these skills while our brains are in their frontal lobes, when we are in a happy neutral moment that is when our friends can learn a new skill.

During circle time, our Mr. potato head has been helping us revisit scenarios we see some of our friends need some practice in and in a fun hands on way he helps us teach a skill to practice that week.

Yedidya and Shai acting out how it must feel when someone pulls our yarlmuka/kippa off our head.

Prk Kria
We have been having fun practicing the difference between a Beis and a Veis. Pin the pom pom dot on the Veis and our workbooks.

Kindergarten Kria
Our friends have been busy practicing the similar letters and the final letters.
After finishing our folder work, we made letters in the shaving cream.

Academics
Working on our letter recognition.

Practicing our writing skills.

Using our bodies to make letters.

Have a Happy Rosh Hashana and Good Shabbos!
