Using our Rosh for Rosh Hashana!

We started this week off with a special day in the Chassidic calendar, Chai (18th) of the Hebrew month of  Elul. The Alter Rebbe and Bal Shem Tov who both brought secrets of the Torah into this world.
Chana, using fire blow are to show how their teachings are lighting up this world!

We have been hard at work learning about Rosh Hashana. Jack and Yossi making Shana Tova card that will be sent in the mail to loved ones.

Mimi, creating a special dish for apples.

This week we learned about the four names of Rosh Hashana.
1) Rosh Hashana- Rosh- Head. Just like our brain controls our entire body. This holiday gives us the power for the entire year!
Shai, documenting something new he wants to start this year.

2) Yom Hadin- the day of judgement. When Hashem looks extra closely on all the Mitzvahs on our personal scale.
Mimi learning how a scale works using a lot of different objects.

Chana, picking a Mitzvah to go on her scale.

3)Yom Teruah- A day we blow the Shofar!
Thank you, Rabbi Lang for coming to blow the Shofar for us! Kfir, practicing ;)

Learning the three different sounds a shofar makes as well as seeing a visual on the table . Chana, created hers while making a crying face which it symbolizes.

4) Yom Hazikaron- A day Hashem remembers the good that I did.
