Back to School and Ready to Grow!

Its Elul and the king is in the field

Usually the king is busy in the palace and it takes work and effort to see the him. Except for this month, the Jewish month of Elul.  This month the king is so so close to us. We don't need to work hard to see Him. In fact in this month the king is coming to great us...
This king is Hashem.
Hashem wants to be close to us. Now we can tell Him or ask Him for anything we need or want.

We also want to feel as close as we can to Him so we Daven (pray), do extra Mitzvahs (good deeds) and give extra Tzedaka (charity).

This week Rabbi Lang blew the Shofar for everyone to remind us that we are in the month of Elul.

6 Days Of Creation

This week we learned day 1 and day 2 of creation.
The first day of creation Hashem created the light. This light was a "Ki Tov" light. A light that is very powerful, for example this light can help someone see what is happening on the other side of the world.
Only Tzadikim (righteous people) can see into this light though learning Torah. When Moshiach comes we all will be able to see this light.
Mendel and Rozie are separating the light and dark beads.
Tamar and Emma are painting light.

Bela Riva is separating the the light pompoms from the dark pompoms.

The second day Hashem separated the waters. Half of the water became the heaven, in Hebrew "Shamayim" and the other half was the water that stayed on the earth (ocean).

Mendel is dividing the water from the bucket in half  in to 2 bowls.
Some of our friends are painting the ocean.

א, ב, וג

This year we are learning the names of the Hebrew letters and the meaning (secret story) of each letter. We really enjoyed learning about the letter ג that comes before the letter ד.
The ג is a Giver, a person that was blessed with a lot of money and he can give - in Hebrew "Gomel".
The letter ד is the poor person that needs the Tzedaka and is very humble.

Dovi is demonstrating the letter Gimel. His right foot is in front and he is ready to run and do the Mitzvah to give Tzedaka. The solution was created before the problem. This was not a simple concept but our kids got it!!

We were so excited to start our writing curriculum.
This week our kindergartens got to practice some writing.
We learned that "writing is just telling on paper"
We learned 3 steps for writing a story.

1. Think 2. Draw 3. Write

Dovi is spelling his name.
Bela Riva is reading a book to some of our friends in our class.
