Welcoming back our friends and parents at orientation!
Connecting Gan and home
Parents writing love notes for their child. We love reading these love notes at a 'one on one' opportunity. This is a great space to talk about what it's like to be away from our parents for a bit and how much they love us and will see us very soon.
(We will also be using them during our Rosh Hashana curriculum stay tuned ;)
Great seeing our friends re-connect and bond.
Shimmy the sheep.
During our circle at the orientation we introduced shimmy the sheep who was a bit nervous to start school and read a book about how our mommies and daddies will always be in our hearts even while we are at Gan.
This was a great bridge for the first day of school since shimmy the sheep greeted them at the door and had a little gift for each child....
A key chain with their picture and parent. This was a great tool for some to hold onto or to look at during the first few days of starting a new year.
For some it was their family pictures on the wall!
For some it was their family pictures on the wall!
Finding friends in our water beads table. This was a fun way to learn some new friends names!
Was so sweet to watch our friends find the older friends from last year who moved onto to TK!
During our first week we explored our emotions. What are you feeling today? We expressed this in different ways and show cased how all emotions are okay to feel.
Yanky making his face on a tree stump with seashells and rocks. Menachem decorating a face on sticky contact paper.
Learning the routines and 'rules' in our class in a fun interactive way. Sara the puppet came into school a bit confused. She didn't know how to use the paper towels, or the soap or even where to stand when washing her hands. Our Torah tots class got to show her while we reviewed the appropriate amounts and how to be kind to our friends.
Finding our spot on line and learning how to give enough space for our friend.
"Tools" in our classroom.
It is always nice to review for some and others get a chance to learn how we use some of our tools in school.
A puppet show helped us learn how to paint and how to keep our brushes clean. Shmuel feeling the difference between a hard brush and a clean and soft one.
Esther and Eitan painting on top of the first letter of their name to create a negative space art.
Being responsible and cleaning the brushes after we use them.
Chanie practicing her cutting skills. Yanky using water droppers to create a science experience placing vinegar on top of baking soda ice. Sholom filling up the squares with colored water.
