As teachers we are challenged to teach the same concept in several ways to make sure that each child understands the idea in their own way.
The King Is In The Field
This week we continued to discuss this idea by using our IMAGINATION, through visualization. In our imagination we visualized ourselves holding a telescopes in our hand. With this telescope we can see the most beautiful and magical tree. When we look into the telescope we feel so close that it feels like we can almost touch it but in reality we are not close... this feeling is frustrating!
This is the same way we feel throughout the year. We can put on our telescope and we might see the king though the window of the palace and we might feel close to him but really we are not.
Right before Rosh Hashanah, the head of the year, we prepare our souls for the new year. The king, comes closer to us to help us remember to make the right choice.
"Everyone makes mistakes but we need to fix them"- Emma Peterson shared.
In our class we wanted to show the children what happens when they make the right choice.
Here we can see that whenever Mendel is doing a mitzvah he gets one knot closer to the "king" - Dovi.
Batya ran to help her friends clean up their mess without being asked. She is one step closer to the king!
This week we finished learning the 6 days of creation.
Hashem first created day and night, the ocean, the plants, the fish, the animals and at the end "Adam Harishon" (the First Man).
Hashem wanted the world to be ready for Adam. The same way we get our house ready for guests.
Hashem loves us so much! He created the world for us so only once it was ready did he put people in it!
Day 3; the land and trees
Day 4; sun, moon and stars
Day 5 and 6
fish, birds animals and people
Day 7, Shabbat
Acting out our Shabbat song...
On Sunday, we work,work, work...
on Shabbat we rest.
Learning through movement.
Dovi acts out an animal for all his friends to guess.
Everyone pretends to be fish swimming in the seas.
Who needs expensive toys when you have a box, sand and imagination!
