Parshat Ki Sisa: From a Half to One Hundred

COUNTING THE JEWISH PEOPLE

Half Shekel
In this weeks Parsha we learned that every Jewish person did the Mitzvah of giving a half Shekel for the Mishkan. When Moshe counted the half-Shekalim, it was a way to count how many Jewish people there were. We learn from this that when we count people, we should not count directly.

There is a lesson that we can learn from the Mitzvah of giving the half shekel. When a Jewish person is disconnected and by himself, he is like a half. When he is acting in a nice way to his friends, with kindness he is a whole.

Each child got a half of a circle. The children had to look for their other half partner and do the exercise with holding the partners hand.

Reading In Hebrew

This week we learned three new sounds, one of them was ג- gimmel, the Going sound.
On the left you can see how our children were so excited to hold ''the man that is Going G G G''
he looks exactly like a  ג.

100th Day of School

Everyone was so excited!
We blew up balloons for the occasion!

We counted to One Hundred and filled up our trays with 100 goodies!

It was a big celebration, 100 days of experiencing, learning and growing.
We are so proud of our children.

Math Counting And Sorting

This week each child was invited to create his/her own graph.
We counted and sorted out different fruity Trix cereal, then we circled the column with the most cereal and the column with the least cereal on it.

Some of us tried to calculate how much pieces of cereal were on the graph all together.

Aleph Beis Board Games: Samech Edition

Q is for Q-tip, Quiet and Quiche

Dipping and Dying to make colorful q-tips

We had to practice our blowing skills, to blow the q-tip through the straws.

We followed a recipe to make a delicious quiche!
It was so delicious that everyone asked the Morah to send their Mommies the recipe.
We kind of eyeballed it though :)
We used 1/2 a bag of spinach and 5 zucchini's.
We also mixed some cheese into the veggies and sprinkled on top!

Cutting the veggies for our quiche!

Piping hot right from the oven!
It was so yummy!!
Only in Gan Camarillo do we have kids begging for
second helpings of veggies!

Symmetry Sorting!
Motty also decided to put the letters in order!
