Parshat Tetzaveh: The Clothes Make the Man

Parshat Tetzaveh: The Clothes Make the Man

Hashem told the Jewish people to build a Mishkan as Hashem's home. They traveled with the Mishkan while they were in the desert. In last weeks parsha, Hashem told Bnei Yisroel to build the Mishkan and vessels that will go inside it.  This weeks parsha goes into detail about what should be made for the Mishkan.
The Jewish people were asked to bring oil for the Mishkan.
Rozie selected a color to drop into the oil!
Saige (and everyone) watched in awe as the drop went through the oil to the water below.

Aharon and his 4 sons were appointed as Kohanim (priests) and all their sons and grandsons are kohanim even till this day!
We marveled at the uniform the kohanim had to wear!
Regular kohanim wore 4 special clothes.

Yisroel demonstrates the "8" garments the Kohen Gadol wore.
We loved the choshen with its 12 stones, and the idea of the pomegranates and bells ringing when the Kohen Gadol walked into the room!

We also practiced weaving like the Jewish people did to give clothing to the Mishkan.

It was so sweet to watch everyone help each other find matches!

Each child has a Morah inside!
Menachem was the mini Morah and showed Evan what letter to write.
