In Rabbi Shimon’s cave!

This week, we learned about Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and the amazing story of how he and his son hid in a cave to stay safe from the Roman King. Hashem made a miracle for them — a carob tree and a spring of water grew just outside the cave so they could live and learn Torah without worry. To keep their garments from wearing out, they took them off and buried themselves in the sand during the day. This also helped them stay tznius (modest) while they learned. Rabbi Shimon and his son didn’t just learn by themselves — they were even visited by Eliyahu HaNavi, who learned Torah with them! Every day this week, we built our own version of Rabbi Shimon’s cave, complete with a carob tree and flowing water.

We got to taste carobs! Yossi said they look like chocolate.

Counting the Omer — we're halfway there!

We’re still catching special Ve'ahavta L'reacha Kamocha moments all around our classroom — so much kindness everywhere! 💕
Ashira got Nechama clay from the Morah room when her dish broke.

Eli opened the door for his friends while singing a happy song!

There’s a big idea in Judaism called mitzvah goreret mitzvah — one good deed leads to another! When Mordy got hurt, Mendy comforted him. Then the whole class wanted to help make Mordy feel happy and safe, so they all gave him a big group hug! What a beautiful moment of kindness and unity. 💖

Rabbi Shimon wrote the Zohar, which revealed deeper layers of the Torah — like discovering a secret code! The kids wore their detective hats to crack a secret code too. It was such a fun way to expand our thinking and practice our Hebrew letters!

With Mother's Day coming up, we worked so hard to make our mommies a beautiful jewelry dish to show them our love.

Playing baseball has been so much fun this week! We saw the kids practicing and getting better at the game and working together as a team.

We watched the caterpillar climb up to make its chrysalis, soon we’re going to have butterflies!

Reading time with friends!

Building together!

We have been growing carrots from seeds, and recording the results like true scientists!

Happy Birthday Avraham!
