Shavous is almost here!
We want each Jewish Holiday to feel so meaningful for our friends. The Torah that we get each year from Hashem is there's! This week we focused on this concept in circle times and center play.
Zalman, decorating his Torah that will be filled with Mitzvahs that HE can do! What a gift.
What do we SEE in the Torah? Our friends knew right away "Alef Beis". They are written by a Sofer and special ink using a feather. We invited our friends to try to fill in the Alef beis letters using this technique.
Taking it to the next level, we learned what these holy letters in the Torah is telling us.
Levi, Yocheved Sara coming up and placing different Mitzvahs that are spoken in the Torah.
Har Sinai had beautiful flowers on it during the giving of the Torah. Using our math and fine motor skills to place flower inside Styrofoam.
On Shavous, its is customary to eat dairy foods. After the giving of the Torah, once the Jewish people learned about Kosher they needed time to Kosher to utensils so they didn't eat meat.
Ariella, making her own pretend cheesecake using sand, shaving cream and pom poms for toppings.
Of course we had to make REAL cheesecake.
Yummy!
Making crust by banging tea biscuits together.
We have been hard at work on our end of year project!
What a fun feeling getting our hands in the paint.
Look how high I can jump?
Good Shabbos and Happy Shavous!
